We are happy to announce the winner of the non-profit nominations for Joomla Day Austin -  MinisandFriends.org provides "equine assisted therapy" for people who have mental and physical handicaps.  They also work with hospice and children who are victims of abuse.  Their programs tailor activities for children with disabilities, at-risk youth, individuals in transition and elder adults to improve their motor skills, ability to connect, tactile response, use of senses and spirits through interaction with miniature horses.

Thanks to Tim McReynolds from our Austin Joomla User Group, we will revamp the Minis and Friends website at Joomla Day Austin.  On September 15, 2011, the Joomla community and this local non-profit will unite and have the opportunity to build a Joomla website together.  We look forward to seeing the impact we will make on Minis and Friends, now and years to come.
